Running smoothly from 100 up to 277 volts, this light works well in many power setups. Silence is guaranteed thanks to no moving parts - just stillness inside. 36 watts - what does that replace in the real world?
Roughly 150-watt metal halide or 200-watt high-pressure sodium. The math isn't linear because HID throws light in a box pattern while corn bulbs spin it everywhere. But useful illumination on the ground ends up comparable or better, with half the wattage draw and none of the warm-up delay.
E26/E39 base - which one do I actually use?

Rubycon capacitors - still worth mentioning at 36W?

100-277V - will it work on my 480V service?
No. 277V is the ceiling. 480V three-phase industrial service needs different gear. This bulb tops out at 277V nominal, which covers commercial wye services. Know your building's electrical before ordering. The wide range helps, but it's not infinite.
How does this physically compare to 27W and 60W versions?
Same diameter, slightly longer than 27W, shorter than 60W. Heat sink fins scale with thermal load. All share the same base adapter system, same certifications, same 5000K output. Family resemblance is strong - pick wattage based on fixture size and desired brightness, not mechanical compatibility.
Retrofit - my old ballast still in the circuit?
Remove it. Corn bulbs run on line voltage, not ballast-restricted power. Bypass wiring is standard for HID retrofits. Electrician disconnects the ballast, wires socket direct to line voltage. Bulb takes over from there. Trying to run through a ballast causes failure, sometimes spectacularly.
